Tampa, Fla. rapper Soljah aka Soljah El Godd was born the son of a Haitian father and American mom in Tampa and raised in the city’s Riverview Terrace Projects on the North side of town, young Soljah grew up as a confessed introvert. As a kid coming up, he was never really a people person but one who preferred to be alone or only with his closest friends.

He became interested in music and started rapping in the fourth grade, around the same time he purchased his first tape- Tupac’s 1994 album Thug Life, Vol. 1. “That tape totally inspired my whole life from that point on,” remembers Soljah. “It played a part in my life as far as religion, the way I live my life and mostly in my music.”
